use SPSS for the simple stuff. But we also have a variety of
specialty software programs that permit us to address more esoteric
issues. And we have the experience and expertise to know how to use
them. A few of the packages we are currently using include:

SPSS
– The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. Benchmark
software for many univariate and multivariate statistical
analyses.

Lisrel
– Jorskog’s program for structural equation modeling and path
analysis.

Glimmix
– Latent class (mixture regression) modeling and segmentation.

Hierarchical Bayes Regression and HB Choice (SSI)
– for estimation of individual level utilities obtained from
conjoint studies.

SYSTAT Logit
– General purpose logit and log linear regression program.

SYSTAT
– When SPSS has difficulty with an experimental design, SYSTAT’s
Multivariate General Linear Hypothesis Model steps up to the
plate.

PC-MDS
- Scott Smith’s interpretation of a number of scaling and
mapping programs, including correspondence analysis.

PACKAGE
– Jack Hunter’s confirmatory factor analysis program. The
fastest way to a unidimensional model of measurement.
